Vectary is a browser based 3D platform helping teams optimize their product lifecycle management with better cross-department communication. Our main focus is to get your ideas across by building 3D interactive experiences.

About this role

Vectary is the first browser-based 3D design platform. From an engineering perspective - this requires the front-end 3D kernel to work flawlessly with robust back-end services. It’s where the front-end stack meets the back-end stack, all while the information travels through cloud infrastructure.

Building a platform like this in the cloud can be considered a daunting task. It requires a mix of user experience, performance, and quality, all from within a browser. That’s why we’re looking for a software engineer with a proven track record of building complex applications.

You will be flexible when choosing technologies but rigid in their execution and quality. You’re also driven, motivated, and are comfortable working with a fully remote team. If building a cutting-edge cloud application is your passion, then Vectary is what you’re looking for.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all areas of development, from ideation to execution
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers
  • Present ideas, which you will plan and execute
  • Build and maintain; you understand both are equally important and need to be thoroughly documented
  • Take care of the environment your code runs in and understand the underlying infrastructure
  • Be a team player; support your peers by providing constructive feedback and assistance
  • Help grow the company by participating in the recruitment process

Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous programming experience with JavaScript or TypeScript,
  • Experience with Node.js like frameworks (e.g. Express.js) and tooling (e.g. webpack),
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Mongo, ElasticSearch, or others),
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructures (e.g. AWS, GCP, or others)
  • Experience with virtual environments (e.g. Docker),
  • Experience with architectural design in big applications,
  • You understand the concept of monolithic repositories, multiple repositories and monorepo,
  • We’re a globally distributed team, so fluency in English (written and spoken) is important.

We also hope you are interested in one or more of these topics

  • Web application development
  • Cloud infrastructure design
  • 2D/3D graphics
  • C++ application development for the web (Emscripten/WebAssembly)
  • Native application development

Essential attributes

  • Team player spirit
  • Fast learner and do-er
  • Big-picture and forward-thinking
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Focus on quality and continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail
  • Be curious
